Safe & Loved
Infants at Play & Learn enjoy a nurturing, cheery, atmosphere in which to grow and explore. We’re experts at creating infant spaces that foster baby’s motor skills, cognitive development and social/emotional growth. In these safe and stimulating environments our nurturing caregivers build relationships and encourage our youngest learners to develop independence and self-confidence.

Each day we engage babies in a host of imaginative activities. The Play & Learn
Infant Curriculum focuses on movement, creative expression, learning from the world and talking and listening. You’ll find us playing peek-a-boo, dancing and playing with musical instruments, reading stories, or feeling cloths of different textures. We also teach our infants simple signs in sign language like "milk" and "more," so our infants can communicate in a frustration-free manner with caregivers. In nice weather we’ll take a stroll outdoors in our “Bye Bye Buggie.”

In Play & Learn infant rooms, each baby receives individualized and responsive care. Throughout the day we follow each child’s personal schedule of napping, eating and diapering, making time during these routine activities to sing, talk and cuddle. We keep parents informed with
“My Day” sheets detailing their child’s day. Parents can take comfort knowing they can stop in any time to breast-feed or just to visit.

Exploring Their World
At Play & Learn we engage toddlers in carefully planned, hands-on learning activities utilizing the
‘High Reach’ Curriculum. They are lovingly guided through their early learning experiences while playing, singing, and dancing. Activities designed to develop listening and talking skills, build confidence and foster social interactions are coupled with plenty of fresh air, free play and quiet time to fill the busy toddler’s day. In our toddler environments children can safely explore and develop their coordination skills. Daily schedules and weekly lesson plans are posted on the parent board.

Cuddle Bugs Curriculum (ages 12 – 24 months) was designed with the curious toddler in mind. Themes such as “Things I Can Do,” “Travel Time,” and “Friends” are reinforced with books, puppets, songs, free-form art projects and other creative activities.

Tender Times Curriculum (ages 2-3 years), developed for active two year olds, offers lots of hands on activities where children learn through play. Themes such as “From Head to Toe” and “Reach for the Stars” encourage problem solving, language development, creatvity and self esteem. Classroom learning centers offer a host of free- choice, independent learning opportunities. We also concentrate on potty learning and self-help skills with older toddlers.

Learning & Growing
Our Preschool, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, is a carefully planned, hands-on program that keeps children actively involved. Using the thematically-based ‘High Reach’ Curriculum, certified teachers encourage growth in all areas: physical, social/emotional, communication/language and cognitive. Preschoolers learn letters and sounds, colors and shapes, and number concepts, all within a fun and pressure-free environment. We encourage independence and confidence in taking care of belongings, dressing, eating and socializing. Sample themes for preschoolers include: ‘All about Me,’ ‘In the Neighborhood,’ ‘Five Senses,' and ‘Holidays Around the World.’ The curriculum encourages family participation, further reinforcing concepts and skills.

Preschoolers can choose from a variety of
developmentally-
appropriate learning centers
as they begin to make choices
and gain independence.
Music and gym specialists visit
monthly, adding to the variety of stimulating activities. Computers in every preschool classroom are used daily. Optional computer classes taught by certified teachers from
Computer Tots® are also available. Introductory Spanish, outdoor exercise and making friends all add up to fun for 3 and4 year-old children
